He was born in Durr\u00ebs and when he was 22 years old he started leading small groups for learning the Albanian language, which was forbidden at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1903 he opened a stationery shop that was important in the struggle for independence in Durr\u00ebs. Stefani was one of the founders of the Patriotic Clubs \u201cV\u00ebllaz\u00ebria\u201d (\u201cBrotherhood\u201d) and \u201cBashkimi\u201d (\u201cUnion\u201d).
